Eternal Journey
The autumn leaves cover’d the path,
Where I was walking alone.
My hopes were getting lost in grass,
My crimson dress was torn.
And slowly sinking into the gloom,
Ahead I saw an obscure loom.
Secrets the wind was whispering sadly
As it whirled the leaves in the air,
My frighten’d heart was thumping madly
Under someone’s concealed stare.
Soon shadows gathered around
Like a misty veil upon the ground.
My path was lit with fairy light,
That enigmatic dark couldn’t devour.
The stranger illumined the night!
In awe I watched his mighty power.
But till morn came, away he gone,
His angel wings shone in the sun.
And I did blame my loneliness,
My cruel everlasting bane!
‘Tis my endless way out of the sorrow
My eternal journey through this forlorn land
And there I will be tomorrow
And there I will find my end.
